You might expect a band playing their first ever gig to be a little rough around the edges, nervous and, well, not very good.
Galway’s EDFT are about to buck that trend as they make their live bow in Kelly’s on Saturday, 29 March.
The band has already recorded its debut EP in Grouse Lodge, no less, and it’s a confident, mature piece of dance-influenced melodic rock.
The band cite Rage Against the Machine as a major influence and while their radio-friendly sound lacks the hard edge of RATM, there are echoes of Tom Morello’s guitar-playing in their effects laden leads.
With such a heavy emphasis on their rhythm section, EDFT are likely to be an energetic live prospect and one that will get the audience up and dancing.
Doors for EDFT open at 9.30pm and admission is €5.
