Monroe’s Live and Galway Arts Festival welcome international singing superstar Brian Kennedy back to Galway tomorrow, Thursday 18 July.
Belfast-born Kennedy has been wowing audiences the world over with his angelic voice since he first came to prominence as a backing vocalist of notoriously exacting jazz and folk legend Van Morrison’s band in the 1990s.
Since he first tasted solo success in 2001 with debut album ‘Get On With Your Short Life’, Kennedy has embarked on a fruitful solo career, with hits including ‘Life, Love and Happiness’ and ‘Put the Message in the Box’.
Brian has also performed for one of TV’s largest audiences when he represented Ireland in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest and, more recently, featured as a judge on series one of RTÉ’s ‘The Voice of Ireland’ singing contest.
Tickets for tomorrow’s intimate Galway Arts Festival show are priced at €15 and are available from www.galwayartsfestival.com and the Festival Box Office on Forster Street.
As an added bonus, following Brian’s show, audiences will be treated to a performance by Spanish singer-songwriter Ed Tupila. Equally obsessed with the Mersey beat sounds of the 60s and Madrid pop of the 80s, Ed’s music is quirky pop at its finest.
Doors open at 10pm. For more information, see www.monroes.ie.
